Mothers Day, Candle Making and Random Blabbing

It has been a really crazy last few days with uni and work etc. Yesterday it was Saturday and we had to go to uni from 9-4.30 for an assignment and we need to do it all again next Saturday! The worst thing is I am taking two Saturdays off work and that means less money but oh well I have been making commission every week! Speaking of work I am officially the best sales person on night shift and have won a free holiday weekend away but they are still organizing it all so that will get its own blog post! I do LOVE my job though, I have a great boss and I am even getting a pay rise next week :D

Today is Mother's Day so tonight I went to dinner with Mum! Nicolai and Mike also came along. We went to this restaurant up the road which we recently discovered which is Malaysian and also has a vegan menu to choose from. We got some great food from there and had a nice night. Below is a pic of Mum and me:

Onto other news. I have a new hobby! I now make my own candles! I ordered the soy wax, wicks, scent oils etc a while ago online but I have been way too busy to even make them but Friday night I finally found some time to do it! I made my first batch and make coconut and vanilla scents. I mainly chose these scents because they are also my Mum's favorites and I wanted to make her a couple for Mothers Day! They are so fun to make and it is a hobby where at the end you have something solid to look at and enjoy. Eventually I want to make a little online business selling them, but not for a while!
Here is a picture of my candles drying:

Also just quickly I wanted to say how much technology has been amazing me. I had a group assignment to work on today but we couldn't meet so we started using Gmail to work together. We can have one Word Document open and all edit it at the same time, while chatting in a box on the side. See picture below:

Also here is a photo I took for my Pop. He is interested in cranes and this is a job they are doing on the new hospital across the road from uni where they have all of these huge cranes. I know he will find this interesting! And you can also see our bus stop and the amazing weather!

New post soon. Another busy week of assignments coming up and work every night! But I love to blog!

Sushi, Giant Mugs and Rain

I am still confused as to how it can go from pouring rain one day to perfect blue skies the next? That is the difference between yesterday and today. It was actually cold yesterday it was jeans weather and today summer dress! I had to walk through this nasty puddle at uni:

So today Nicolai and I headed to do some shopping at Pacific Fair, he needed to spend his birthday vouchers he got! So we decided to make a little day out of it and go for a sushi brunch as well and look around a bit before coming home and I went to work! More photos?

What sushi do vegans eat? Avocado sushi, vegetarian sushi and at this other place we eat asparagus sushi and it tastes good enough that I forget I'm eating vegan... no need for salmon or lobster boats!

I was on the hunt for a candy thermometer in Crazy Clarks (I needed the thermometer for a new hobby I am working on and it is not making candy, something more awesome than that so stay tuned to see) and we ended up coming home with these cups? mugs? bows? sinks?
I put the camera there so you can see how ginormous these mugs are! I think they might need 2 tea bags? It's about half a litre in each!

Well not much to share really except we are flat out with uni work and I am trying to do that and normal work as well! So I will try and update again soon!

Post Number One: Birthday Weekend

Welcome to the new blog! I apologise because this first post will be a long one!

Nicolai turned 23 this weekend and we had such a fun weekend! Before he woke up on Saturday morning (his Bday morning) I went to the shops to buy goodies for the evening. I stocked up on chips and dip, decorations and picked up his bday card. When i got home I decorated the apartment a little to surprise him when he woke up!

He woke up and got his present (Guitar Hero 5) and then I made his breakfast request... crepes and juice...

We enjoyed the meal while watching an episode of Friends. Friends is our show of the moment, we watch it whenever we sit down to eat and usually before bed. We have finished 3 out of 10 seasons.

We then spent the afternoon cleaning and getting ready for our friends to come over (Well I cleaned). Nicolai instead went across the road and got a case of beer where he snapped this pretty picture of the sunset on his phone:
(You can click on any of the photos to enlarge! Just remember to come back and read the blog).

Mum stopped by to drop off birthday presents for Nic and then Kuda arrived so the boys started playing Guitar Hero...

The night progressed, a couple more people came by and we did the cake! A vegan caramel mud cake I mad click HERE to see more about it.

Also, check out the video below of us singing Happy Birthday. It was funny because I accidently bought Magic Candles which we all knew about so we had some fun with it!

Overall it was a great weekend and Nicolai had a wonderful birthday! My turn next!
